Year 2012 will forever embed in the memories and history of Ukraine and Poland. The countries are making everything possible to welcome the people worthily and not to lose the face in hosting such a major event as EURO 2012 football championship.
It's not only for the local government that take care of all the preparations but also for the people who want to be the part of the event and who make this championship possible. A lot of young and old volunteers expressed their desire to take part in EURO 2012, so no wonder that there were so many volunteer organizations created.
To organize and conclude EURO 2012, UEFA had to find about 5 000 volunteers in Ukraine and Poland. To their surprise, Ukraine applied even more than Poland. Ukrainian showed themselves as true patriots and football fans. The year 2012 will doubtless go into the history of the world sport and will make a special page in the history of Ukraine.
Everybody who is over 18 (sometimes 16 years) can participate in EURO 2012 volunteering that occupies various spheres: meeting and placement, transportation and different works on the host stadiums. Main requirements for the applicants are knowledge of Basic English, be fun-loving and open-minded person. This job is not only about football, this is a great opportunity to meet interesting people from all over the world, try yourself in a new sphere and help and prove your country can host the biggest sport events of international standard.
Not only people but several large companies decided to be a part of the most exciting sport event of the year. Such companies as Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Sportmaster and even 3 beer’s companies made their contribution into the development, reconstruction and building hotels, streets and stadiums by organizing different offers and promotions.
Such volunteering company as CastingUEFA (http://www.castinguefa.com/blog/) is asking everybody to become a part of a massive opening and closing ceremonies that will be held in both Ukraine and Poland. Their main idea is to attract the biggest possible number of people to form a volunteering circle of young and enthusiastic people. Their efforts are not in vain as they gathered already hundreds of people who are not indifferent to their country. CastingUEFA is an alive example of a team spirit and hard work. Participating in CastingUEFA ceremonies gives you tha chance to express yourself and support the country.
As the main motto of the EURO 2012 football championship is: “Making history together”, most students, workers or simply football lovers decided to become a part of such historical event.
After filling an application every volunteer has to pass an interview, which will show where he/she might be most useful. It can be either transportation -placement of the guests or working directly on the stadiums. The last one is believed to be the most respected job, especially if you are a real football fan. These people are called “Stewards”. They will be working as a desk cashiers inside the stadium, outside the stadium and even directly on the ground. The job is not only interesting but very defendant. One should work as a security guard, a guide and a helper for most of the tourists. Every participant will be given a special certificate that will confirm his participation during the championship.
Though the championship lasts only one month, every volunteer has to start his/her education half a year earlier. Studying English, the game, precautionary measures and the cities, they pass different tests to be allowed to participate in EURO 2012 volunteering programs.
Becoming a volunteer is a great opportunity to gain new skills and meet people from all over the world, it is of course a lion’s share of responsibility and return which will be compensated by a wonderful experience and unforgettable adventures.
